Swimming and triathlon are now available on RunMotion Coach!

After adding cycling as a cross-training sport in 2022, a new sport has now made its debut on RunMotion Coach: swimming. With running, cycling, and swimming workouts now available on RunMotion Coach, you can dive into triathlon training 😉

Already preparing for a road race or trail running race? Simply add swimming as a cross-training activity to mix things up!

Want to set triathlon goals on RunMotion Coach? It’s now possible with the addition of triathlon goals (from Sprint to Long distances). No more excuses not to jump into the water now 😉

You can now choose up to 2 swim workouts per week, because let’s not forget that running is still cooler than swimming 😜

The release of this new version (V6.1.0) is scheduled for Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 2 PM on the App Store and Google Play. The addition of swimming training and triathlon goals are available with a RunMotion Coach Premium subscription.

Triathlon in RunMotion Coach

In this new module, you can choose to prepare for a Sprint (S), Olympic (M), or Half-Ironman (L) distance.

Once you’ve chosen the distance, you’ll find the sessions to achieve your triathlon goal directly on your timeline, just like your running training plans. Pretty straightforward, right?

Note: These programs consider your level, personal goals, and availability, offering optimal preparation. It’s time to realize your ambitions, and we’re here to support you 😉

To better organize your training, you can choose the days for each sport. As you get closer to your triathlon goal, it’s beneficial to do two activities on the same day, like swimming and cycling, or cycling and running. For example, in the last 6 weeks, think about working on these transitions, selecting these days in ‘My Training Preferences’ or moving them in ‘Edit My Week’.

Add Swimming to your Training Plan

Just like cycling, it’s now possible to add swimming to your RunMotion Coach training plan, even if you have a more traditional road race or trail running goal. You’ll find a variety of sessions with different types of exercises such as crawl swimming sessions. Coaches Joy, Socrates, or Philippe will also be there to offer tips, so listen carefully 😉

To add swimming to your plan, go to ‘My Training Preferences,’ click on ‘My Training Days,’ and select ‘Add Swimming’. The number of swim workouts is limited to 2 per week, with the option to choose up to 1 intense swim workout, the rest being focused on endurance and technique.

Expertise behind the programs

The addition of this new feature has leveraged the entire expertise of the RunMotion Coach team.

Already part of the RunMotion Coach team to develop partnerships with races, it was natural to call on Maxime Feugier, Junior French Long Distance Triathlon Champion and triathlon coach. His in-depth knowledge was a major asset in constructing the swimming sessions.

Kevin Hardy, a swimming instructor and coach, also supervised the filming of technical swimming videos to help improve your stroke. Videos available on the App and our YouTube channel.
