A stunning setting to push your limits
The Lavaux vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Lake Geneva and its shores give the Lausanne Marathon a beautiful course at the foot of the Alps. You run along the water, right below the terraced Lavaux vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Plenty to look at, which helps when your legs start to complain in the final third!
The race is also known for its organisation: friendly and meticulous at the same time. Everything runs like a Swiss watch.
Lausanne, the Olympic Capital
Lausanne is home to the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Museum, which opened in 1993, the same year as the first Lausanne Marathon. Who knows, you might be in Olympic shape on race day and chase down a new personal best!

Lausanne Marathon courses
The Lausanne Marathon offers three distances: the marathon, the half marathon and the 10K. There is something for every road runner.
The marathon
The 42.195 km course runs out and back between Lausanne and the Vevey area along the lake. It is fast overall, although a few climbs make some sections more demanding. The out-and-back layout has a real upside: on the way back you already know the terrain, and the finish pulls you in.
Pacers are there to help you hold your target time all the way to the line.
The half marathon
The half marathon follows the same opening section as the marathon and turns around earlier, after Cully. It is fast and scenic, and the course record fell in 2026 (1:03:54).
The 10K
The 10K has a reputation for speed. The route heads to Paudex and comes back to the lakeside finish. Its big plus is the downhill in the second kilometre, which lets you bank a little time while staying relaxed. Marine used it to set a new PR at the Lausanne 10K.
Good to know: the 10K is also open to Nordic walkers and hikers.
