Pierre-Yves has only been running consistently for 5 years, with 2 sessions a week just to feel “good”. For 2023, he set himself a challenge: running the Paris Marathon!

How did your Paris Marathon go?
My Paris Marathon went really well because I hit my goal. I took 7 minutes off my previous PR, that’s just huge!
The key to success? A marathon training plan built by RunMotion Coach, started well in advance, plus a half marathon as a test race one month before.
How did you manage your Paris Marathon preparation?
My Paris Marathon prep started with a half marathon, but a hamstring injury in November and a break in December made me switch to a full marathon training block in January with RunMotion Coach, an app I discovered on social media.
I trained 3 times a week, with plenty of easy endurance running (aerobic base work) and some faster sessions that were not too intense, so I wouldn’t flare up the injury. Perfect for building marathon fitness, improving pacing, and staying healthy.
What motivates you to run?
What motivates me is the satisfaction of reaching a goal I set for myself.
How did you discover the RunMotion Coach app?
I found the RunMotion Coach app on Facebook.
What encouraged you to download and try the app?
What pushed me to download RunMotion Coach was the attractive price, plus the option to subscribe for a short period.
What do you like most about the app?
What I like most: the choice of coaches and the ability to export my workout straight to my Garmin.
Thanks for sharing your story, Pierre-Yves, and congrats on your personal best! Wishing you a great recovery.
