Margot runs under 3 hours at the Berlin Marathon!

Former tennis player, Margot has always been very athletic. Tired of this sport, she decided to exchange her racket for sneakers… only 4 years ago! For the end of 2023, Margot set herself a major challenge: beat her record at the Berlin Marathon, one of the most iconic marathons in the world. She tells us.

How did your Berlin Marathon go?

My last marathon was Seville in February, I was aiming to do the same or better but above all to have fun on this incredible marathon that is the Berlin Marathon. In the end, I beat my personal record in 2h54’15, it was only good sensations and a huge pleasure at the end.

How did you manage your preparation for the Berlin Marathon?

I was planning to do 12 weeks of training but shortened to 6 (knee pain!). A quite difficult summer preparation, with strong heat and lots of other constraints! I did about 100-110 km weeks. I was relaxed because I didn’t put too much pressure on myself, I thought it was a bit doomed for a time because of the pain in my knees.

What motivates you to run?

I love running, it makes me feel good! If I can still improve, it makes me want to push my limits! I like to push myself and give my best. I still want to lower my time!

How did you discover the RunMotion Coach application?

I discovered the App during the Paris Half Marathon weekend, RunMotion Coach had a booth at the event.

What encouraged you to download and try the application?

Trying to win the Berlin Marathon (laughs)! I was curious, I already set up a plan for my next race!

What do you prefer in the application?

I like that we can customize our training according to the goal. The S&C module also helped me a lot throughout my training (psst, discover it here too).

After the Berlin Marathon, what is your next sporting challenge?

After the Berlin Marathon, my next goal is the 10km of Bordeaux and the Semi-Marathon of Bordeaux. We’ll see later if I’m looking for a new marathon.

Congratulations Margot, good luck for your upcoming sporting challenges 😉
