Jérémy finishes the Paris Marathon in under 4 hours!

Jérémy passes under 4h at the Paris Marathon

Jérémy is a dedicated runner, who started running marathons at the RunMotion Coach Marathon in Chambéry in 2021. Since then, he likes to run the first marathon of the year in France in Cernay on the first weekend of January, to start the year perfectly! His goal at the Paris Marathon: to break the 4-hour barrier!

How did your Paris Marathon 2024 go?

I had a personal challenge to break the 4-hour mark in the marathon, and I had been trying for several times without success. In this Paris Marathon 2024, I crossed the finish line in a time of 3h39’57” (and I insist on the seconds 😅)!

The race went almost smoothly, even though I experienced some minor muscle discomfort at times (who doesn’t during a marathon!). I felt very well prepared for the 3h45 goal.

How did you manage your preparation for the Paris Marathon?

I started my preparation for the Paris Marathon after my marathon earlier this year (the first French marathon of the year, in Cernay (78)), which was 11 weeks away, with 5 training sessions per week. In my previous marathons, I think I didn’t do enough volume and muscle strengthening (the RunMotion PPG module really helped me!).

What motivates you to run?

I’ve been running for about 5 years. I like to set myself goals, race against myself, while challenging myself mentally and physically.

How did you discover the RunMotion Coach app?

I’ve been using the app for a while, more or less consistently (I admit…) for about 4 years. What I like is that you can adapt your training, change the days of your workouts if something unexpected comes up. And the big plus is the addition of muscle strengthening, for someone like me who didn’t necessarily have the motivation to do it alone at home, it really helps.

What encouraged you to download and try the app?

Friends, seeing that the results were there, and also an extra source of motivation. Even though I am a member of an athletics club to go out once a week, it’s an extra help.

What is your next sporting challenge?

My next goal is to try out the triathlon mode, a sport that has attracted me for a while. Otherwise, for now, it’s rest for a while after this marathon.

Congratulations Jérémy on successfully achieving your goal of breaking the 4-hour mark in a marathon! It was great to see you in such good shape!
